  1.         ATTENDANCE KEEPER is a program that performs tracking of Half-Day
  2. Attendance records for Elementary Schools.  It calculates class attendance
  3. summaries, district attendance summaries for both month and year to date
  4. and summaries by grade categories.  It tracks transfers both within and outside
  5. the district and calculates the number of male and female students.  It will
  6. within reason work on any size school district (currently being used by schools
  7. ranging from 600-1300 students).  Registration will allow it's use in multiple
  8. schools within the same district.  All class file data collected at each school
  9. may then be merged to create the final district summary.  It was orginally
  10. written to spec for two Illinois Elementary School Districts that have been
  11. using it for over two years.

  13.         To run the program, simply unzip it in a temporary directory or to
  14. floppy and then run the INSTALL program.  The INSTALL program will set up a
  15. directory for you and create a batch file to run the program from the DOS
  16. command line.  Refer to AK_104A.DOC for instructions on the proper usage of
  17. the program.  It is best to accept the default directory name suggested by
  18. the install program for reasons that are revealed in the AK_104A.DOC file.

  20.         The program is SHAREWARE with a registration fee of $150.00.  It is
  21. fully functional, but after 120 days of unregistered use, it will start
  22. reminding the user of the need to register with a NAG screen.  It will never
  23. make any of the functions of the program inaccessible.

  25.         The program will run on any IBM compatible computer regardless of type
  26. of graphics card.  It supports but does not require a Microsoft compatible mouse
  27. and if your windows mouse driver is properly installed, the program will
  28. successfully run under Windows.  The program is currently being used on machines
  29. ranging from PC-XT equivalents to 386-DX33's with more than acceptable results.
  30. The biggest factor in performance for large school districts will be the speed
  31. of the printer that the reports are generated on.  No special drivers are
  32. needed for the printers since the program only utilizes simple ASCII characters.

  34.         The author will accept questions about the usage of the program from
  35. unregistered users (within reason) that pertain to installation and proper
  36. usage of the program.  He WILL NOT return any phone calls at his expense from
  37. unregistered users!

  39.         This is the first version of this program to be released into the

  42. utilizes routines from the Technojock's Turbo Toolkit (c) TechnoJock Software
  43. Inc. of Houston Tx.
